Darren White retired this week and not on a happy note. I got to know Darren White when he was Bernalillo County Sheriff and I was Bernalillo County Clerk. He and I got along very well. We worked together to defeat the consolidation of the City and County. Back then, most of the Sheriff Deputies were pretty happy to have him as their Sheriff. I do not remember who was his predecessor was, but by the end of his term, the Deputies were ready for a new Sheriff and welcomed Darren White.
I ask all of you to pray for him. This incident with his wife shows that we are all human and we make mistakes. Remember the one with no sin, cast the first stone. He took the high road and resigned. Let him go in peace, he's gone.
This is also a lesson for him, during the last campaign, he stood there with all the republicans downgrading democrats, that they were unethical, criminals, etc. This is to show you stop accusing people because you never know what is going to happen to you in the future.
I wish Darren White good luck and hope he enjoys his retirement. He did do great things during his many years of his career. Remember everyone, the media only tells the half truths and never reports all the good. God Bless Darren White and his family!
